Vendor Exception Management eliminates that friction by embedding exception handling directly into CSD with a familiar interface: Search Panel, Master Grid, New Entry, and a detailed Vendor Exception Log (VEL) view.
The system supports complex search combinations such as PO‑Suffix, warehouse‑vendor‑status, error code‑product‑status, and assigned‑to routing.
Once a search is executed, the software retrieves matching records and automatically identifies phantom lines, active/inactive statuses, tied orders, and other relevant attributes. Users can drill into any line to view or update exception details.

Vendor Exception Management guides users through structured exception creation. When a PO and suffix are entered, the system validates eligibility and line existence, offering phantom‑line creation when needed. The software guides you establish:
- Error code selection
- Additional required information (quantity, tracking, etc.)
- Required documents (freight bill, pictures, packing list)
The software enforces complete entry before saving, ensuring every exception is fully documented.
Routing is automated based on error code logic. The system assigns each line to a VEL Specialist, Buyer, or Receiver, using warehouse/vendor‑specific lookup tables. Notifications are generated through a custom VELNotification BOD placed on the ION bus, alerting owners, assignees, and when applicable sales order owners.
The VEL View provides a streamlined, editable interface for managing exception lines, updating statuses, changing owners, reassigning responsibility, adding notes, and maintaining audit integrity. Line activation/inactivation automatically updates POEH log status, ensuring accurate lifecycle tracking.
